Trividh Pariksha: The Ancient Ayurvedic Diagnostic Approach
Tumblr media
Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine, emphasizes a holistic approach to health and well-being. One of the core elements of Ayurvedic diagnosis is Trividh Pariksha, a threefold examination method used by practitioners to determine a person's overall health and identify imbalances in the body. At Rockholm Luxury Ayurvedic Beach Resort in Kovalam, Kerala, this traditional method forms an integral part of the healing experience, blending ancient wisdom with modern comfort.
What is Trividh Pariksha?
The term "Trividh Pariksha" refers to three methods of examination that are fundamental in Ayurveda: Darshana (observation), Sparshana (touch), and Prashna (questioning). These three approaches allow Ayurvedic practitioners to assess a person's physical, mental, and emotional health.
Darshana (Observation): This is the visual examination where the practitioner observes the patient's physical appearance. This includes examining the skin, eyes, tongue, nails, and overall body condition to detect signs of imbalance in the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). The observation phase often provides the first clues to understanding the patient’s health condition.
Sparshana (Touch): In this phase, the practitioner uses touch to assess the patient’s body. This includes checking the pulse, palpating the abdomen, and feeling the skin and muscles for abnormalities. Pulse diagnosis, or Nadi Pariksha, is a key component here, helping to detect the energy flow within the body.
Prashna (Questioning): This involves a detailed inquiry into the patient’s lifestyle, diet, mental health, daily routines, and medical history. This phase helps the practitioner understand how external factors may contribute to the patient's current state of health.
At Rockholm Ayurveda Center, this comprehensive diagnostic method is applied by skilled Ayurvedic doctors who guide each guest through a personalized wellness journey. By addressing the root cause of imbalances, Trividh Pariksha lays the foundation for a transformative healing experience.

Balancing Body and Mind: Ayurveda Stress Relief Techniques
In today's fast-paced world, stress has become an inevitable part of our lives. Whether it's due to work pressures, personal responsibilities, or the constant barrage of information in the digital age, stress can take a toll on our physical and mental well-being. While there are various methods to cope with stress, Ayurveda, the ancient holistic system of medicine from India, offers a unique and time-tested approach. In this blog, we will explore the top ways to relieve stress with Ayurveda.
Tumblr media
Balancing Your Doshas: Ayurveda believes that each individual is born with a unique constitution, or prakriti, determined by the balance of the three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. When these doshas are in harmony, you are less likely to experience stress. Ayurvedic practitioners can help assess your dosha imbalance and recommend dietary and lifestyle changes to restore equilibrium.
Pranayama and Deep Breathing: Controlled breathing exercises, or pranayama, are an integral part of Ayurveda. These exercises calm the mind, reduce anxiety, and improve mental focus. Simple techniques like Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) and Bhramari (bee breath) can be highly effective in relieving stress.
Practice Daily Meditation: Meditation is a cornerstone of Ayurvedic stress management. It helps calm the mind, reduce anxiety, and promote relaxation. Incorporating a daily meditation practice into your routine can have profound effects on your overall stress levels. There are various meditation techniques in Ayurveda, such as mindfulness meditation, mantra meditation, and transcendental meditation, each catering to different preferences and needs.
Adaptogenic Herbs Ayurveda offers a rich tradition of herbal remedies to combat stress. Adaptogenic herbs like Ashwagandha, Brahmi, and Tulsi are known for their ability to help the body adapt to stressors and restore balance. These herbs can be consumed as supplements or in the form of teas, and they have been shown to reduce cortisol levels, a hormone associated with stress.
Abhyanga (Oil Massage): Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic oil massage that not only relaxes the body but also calms the mind. Massaging warm, herbal-infused oils onto the skin helps release physical tension and encourages a sense of relaxation and well-being.
Tumblr media
Yoga: Yoga and Ayurveda are closely intertwined practices. Yoga postures (asanas) can help release physical tension and improve flexibility, while also calming the mind. Regular yoga practice can significantly reduce stress and improve overall health.
A Balanced Diet: According to Ayurveda, diet plays a crucial role in managing stress. Consuming a diet that aligns with your dosha type can help maintain balance and reduce stress. Avoiding processed foods and incorporating fresh, whole foods can make a significant difference.
Detoxification (Panchakarma): Ayurveda recommends periodic detoxification treatments, known as Panchakarma, to eliminate toxins from the body. These treatments can help restore balance and alleviate stress-related symptoms.
Mindful Eating: Ayurveda emphasizes not just what you eat but also how you eat. Practicing mindful eating involves savoring each bite, chewing thoroughly, and paying attention to the sensory experience of food. This can help reduce stress and improve digestion.
Get Adequate Sleep: Quality sleep is essential for stress management. Ayurveda recommends a consistent sleep schedule and creating a calming bedtime routine to promote restful sleep. Herbal remedies like warm milk with spices (e.g., turmeric and nutmeg) or soothing teas can aid in relaxation and improve sleep quality.
Tumblr media
Stress-Reducing Routines: Establishing daily routines (dinacharya) can provide structure and stability in your life, reducing stress. These routines include activities like waking up early, self-massage, and setting aside time for meditation and exercise.
Ayurveda Awareness Center plays a crucial role in introducing individuals to the principles and practices of Ayurveda. Ayurveda Awareness Center provides a platform for people to learn about the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, including its emphasis on balance, harmony, and holistic well-being. Visiting an Ayurveda awareness center can be a transformative experience as it helps individuals gain a deeper understanding of their own constitution (Prakriti) and imbalances (Vikriti), which is vital for stress management. Awareness centers often offer workshops, lectures, and resources to educate people on Ayurvedic practices and their potential benefits in stress reduction.
In conclusion, Ayurveda offers a comprehensive approach to stress relief that encompasses not only physical but also mental and spiritual well-being. By harmonizing your doshas, adopting mindful practices, and incorporating Ayurvedic principles into your lifestyle, you can significantly reduce stress and enhance your quality of life. Embracing these time-tested methods can lead you on a path to a more balanced and stress-free existence.

Nadi Dosha Solution in Horoscope Matching – Can It be Ignored
Tumblr media
Nadi is the last koot and the most important Koota in Horoscope matching or Kundli milan. Nadi means pulse. The pulse is indicative of heart beat or nervous energy. As per Ayurveda Sastra Nadi indicates the three humours Vaatha Nadi, Pitha Nadi and Sleshma Nadi.
Vaatha Nadi reveals mind or gas (causing gastric problems) Pitha Nadi indicates bile (excessive secretion of bile) Sleshma Nadi indicates phlegm (cold and phlegm formation in the chest).
The three Nadis are classified as Aadi Nadi (beginning) Madyma Nadi (Middle) and Anthya Nadi (ending or last part). They are also named as Dhakshina Nadi, Madyama Nadi and Uthara Nadi. The 27 Nakshatras are divided into 3 Nadis.
HOW IS NADI DOSHA FORMED:
If the boy and the girl have same Nadi they form the Nadi dosha. Nadi dosha is never good for marital happiness. The birth stars of girl and boy must not be in the same Nadi. During horoscope matching If the stars of girl and boy are in different Nadis, matching can be done. If they are in the same Nadi, matching should be completely avoided. Especially if there is Nadi Paad Vedha, marriage should be avoided as other wise it will cause separation, insanity or even death.
SOLUTION TO NADI DOSHA
The only solution is to check for Nadi Paad Vedha. If there is no Nadi Paad Vedha marriage can be considered as it indicates that it is not a complete Nadi dosha.
Tumblr media
NADI DOSHA AND BLOOD GROUP
Some people get confused and relate Nadi to Blood Groups as they do not understand Nadi dosha. They feel that if there is different blood groups then marriage can be done even if Nadi dosha is there. This is not correct, even if there is different blood groups of the boy and girl, if there is Nadi dosha solution, marriage should only take place if there is no Nadi Paad Vedha. Even if the boy and the girl have different blood groups, if there is Nadi Paad Vedha, marriage is restricted.
As Nadis are related to health, happiness and longevity, importance should be given to the agreement of this Koota. Nadi Dosha not only ruins the happiness and prosperity but even cause mental disorder. As Nadi is very important it has maximum of 8 score in Horoscope matching.
Nadi Koot is applicable for very couple who intends to have blissful and happy marriage. Hence Nadi Koota agreement should be obtained before matching.
If you have Nadi Dosha in your Kundli Milan and want to know if it gets cancelled then please look at Horoscope Matching Kundli Milan service from below. This is a detailed Horoscope Matching report which gives you detailed analysis on Guna and Grah Milan. It will discuss your complete horoscope matching in detail and also provide you with astrology remedies and solutions to your problems.

DIET PLAN TO CURE CANCER NATURALLY WITH AYURVEDA
Any disease can be successfully treated or managed if its root cause is known and targeted effectively.
Ayurveda, one of the major traditional forms of medical practice in India, has produced many useful leads in developing medications for chronic diseases.
Ayurveda is an intricate system of healing that originated in India thousands of years ago. Historical evidence of Ayurveda can be found in the ancient books of wisdom known as the Vedas that were written over 6000 years ago. Ayurveda provides novel approaches to cancer prevention that are considered safe.
Classical Ayurvedic texts have several references to cancer. Some terms used to describe the condition are general while others are much more specific.
Charaka and Sushruta Samhita (700 BC) both described the equivalent of cancer as granthi (benign or minor neoplasm) and arbuda (malignant or major neoplasm). Both can be inflammatory or non-inflammatory, based on the doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) involved. The term dosha describes the three principles that govern the psychophysiological response and pathological changes in the body. Ayurveda described health as the balanced coordination of these three systems in body, mind and consciousness. The fundamental theory of Ayurvedic treatment is based on restoration of the balance between these three major bodily systems.
Tridoshic tumours are usually malignant because all three major body humors lose mutual coordination, resulting in a morbid condition.
Arbuda is the most specific term for a cancerous malignancy. Gulma is one another reference used to describe any palpable hard mass in the abdomen. It is any hard, tumor like mass in the abdominal region, which could be benign or malignant.
Ayurvedic classification of neoplasms depends upon various clinical symptoms in relation to tridoshas.
Group I: Diseases that can be named as clear malignancies, including arbuda and granthi, such as mamsarbuda (sarcomas) and raktarbuda (leukaemia), mukharbuda (oral cancer), and asadhya vrana (incurable or malignant ulcers).
Group II: Diseases that can be considered as cancer or probable malignancies, such as ulcers and growths. Examples of these are mamsaja oshtharoga (growth of lips), asadhya galganda (incurable thyroid tumour), tridosaja gulmas, asadhya udara roga, (abdominal tumours like carcinomas of the stomach and liver or lymphomas).
Group III: Diseases with the possibility of malignancy, such as visarpa (erysipelas), asadhya kamala (incurable jaundice), asadhya pradara (intractable dysmenorrhea or leukorrhea) and tridosaja nadi vrana (intractable sinusitis).
At CHARAKA, we are providing effective treatment for cancer, focusing on the principle of detoxification, rejuvenation. Our treatment involves:
Shamana chikitsa (treatment using Ayurvedic medicines orally)
Shodhana chikitsa (detoxification through Panchakarma therapy)
Rasayana chikitsa (immunotherapy, rejuvenation or Kayakalpa)
Diet & life style management
Satvavajaya (couselling)
Daiva vyapashraya chikitsa (divine therapy), Yoga & Pranayama are also suggested as per the need and condition of the patient.
Our cancer therapies are based on the philosophy of Removal the cancerous cells when possible and destroy any cells that remain.
Our Ayurvedic treatments can be safely combined with chemotherapy and radiotherapy procedures to minimize the side effects. Even in surgical treatment, this treatment can be started immediately to prevent metastasis and further healing.
Early detection, early medical or surgical interventions are believed to be the key factors in combating cancer effectively. Similarly early stage Ayurvedic treatment as a co-therapy yields best possible results.
#How can Ayurveda treatment help to combat Cancer?
It is now established that "reverse" signalling from dysfunctional or abnormal Mitochondria play important role in the initiation and progress of Cancer cells and conversely it is also proven that Healthy Mitochondria can suppress the growth of cancer cells and make them more susceptible to the treatment. So any drug or treatment which can improve Mitochondrial function can modify the course of the disease and arrest its growth. In this article, we have seen that Mitochondria and Agni are the same organelles and in Ayurveda, for cancer following treatment is provided
1) To remove the free radicals, toxins, excess amount of dirty Pitta, Kafa and Vata which are known to impair the functions of Agni
2) To restore and strengthen the metabolic functioning of Agni due to which further chain of events are curtailed and disease process comes under control.
3) To change the cellular environment, which breaks down or absorb the Lactic acid which is produced by cancerous cells. By this, Cancer cells lose their ability to spread and metastasize
4) To improve the Immunity which then destroys Cancerous cells.
5) There are certain herbs, like Neem which stimulates tumour suppressor pathways and compel the body to produce more tumour's death promoting ( Apoptosis) chemicals and reduce anti-apoptotic chemicals; all of these modalities lead to the death of cancerous cells and are removed from the system.
6) There are certain herbs like Tinospora which are known to arrest abnormal cell cycle, without affecting the normal cell cycle. This mode of action further reduces the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells.
7) Some herbs like Ashwagandha reduces budding of newer blood vessels in cancerous tissues, thereby cuts off the nourishment of cancerous tissues.
8) Some herbs like Turmeric acts blocks the effect of chemicals ( like TNF alfa) which are responsible for inflammation and Turmeric also blocks the effect of the growth factor called NF kappa -b, thereby uncontrolled multiplication is arrested.
9) Turmeric and Ashwagandha also stimulate p53 tumour suppressor pathway.
10) Some household herb like Fenugreek absorbs lactic acid and stops glucose supply to cancer cells hence they are deprived of their food and die.
What diet is recommended to a patient suffering from Cancer?
The best diet is to follow intermittent fasting or calorie restricted diet which is sufficient enough to provide all required nutrients to the body and immunity but at the same time, deprives cancer cells of their food and compel them to die. General guidelines are as follows
1) Strictly avoid all Maida and bakery products
2) No Sabudana, No vinegar, no Tobacco, No Liquor.
3) Avoid deep fried food
4) Avoid late night dinner ( dinner should be over by 7 pm)
5) No raw food or salad, especially when on chemotherapy
6) Minimum intake of Sugar with one or two days of " NO sugar" per week in any form (Which means no White/ brown sugar, No Jaggery, No honey, No fruit juices, no Carrot or beetroot juice)
7) Once a week fasting as per the advice of expert Vaidya.
Frequently asked queries?
1) Are there any steroids in the Herbal medicines - No, we do not do such kind of unscrupulous or non-ethical practice. My drugs can be tested and subjected to any kind of test for that matter.
2) Are these drugs safe during Chemotherapy- There are certain reports, published in good journals, which has proven the good effect of chemotherapy when combined with herbal treatment. ( Care to be taken that herbal treatment should be of standardized quality and should not be given on the day of injectable chemotherapy, rest it can be given. It also depends on stage and type of cancer, so final decision to be taken only after discussing every pros and cons). There are various clinical studies indicating that if standardized herbal preparations of Curcumin, Ashwagandha are given along with chemotherapy, results are better. Many chemoresistant cancers respond very well when supplemented with Curcumin, Ashwagandha and Tinospora cordifolia.
3) Can herbal therapy replace or avoid chemotherapy- No, one should follow complete modern protocol as it is. Herbal treatment is mainly given to as chemo adjuvant to improve the immunity and mitochondrial function as stated above.
4) Can Ayurveda treatment avoid surgery and radiation- All of you will be surprised to read the fact that, in Ayurveda, which was written 3000 years B.C., it is clearly mentioned that first line of treatment of Cancer is to surgically remove it and then to " Burn" the margins, this concept is similar to today's modern protocol of Surgery followed by Radiation. So any tumour, if operable, should be removed promptly by an expert Onco-Surgeon.
5) What is Chemoprevention? This term was coined by Dr Michel Sporm, in 1976. Chemopreventive are drugs, natural or Synthetic, which have potential to Reverse, Suppress and or Prevent the further growth of cancer. I advise various such Chemopreventive herbs and ways to many normal people and also to cancer patients.

Effects, Aspects, and Solutions of Nadi Dosha in Kundli Matching. Part-1
Individual birth charts describe the qualities and other characteristics of the native in great detail. They indicate how a person acts separately while also indicating how compatible two individuals will be. The Nadi Guna is one of the 36 Gunas, and it causes the Nadi Dosha if two individuals have the same Nadi. Learn about the Nadi Dosha and how it affects people’s horoscopes by reading this article.
Tumblr media
Before their marriage, the bride and groom are matched by a Kundli. It displays how compatible two people are with one another. Guna Milan shows everything about them, from their ideas to their acts. There are 36 Gunas, according to horoscope matching. The Nadi Guna receives eight points out of the thirty-six Guna. As a result, if Nadi Dosha is prevalent in a person’s horoscope, the next generation would be feeble. Let us discuss about the meaning, types, and affects of Nadi Dosha. Are you looking for the best astrologer online? Get an astrology consultation with a professional astrologer to find out the answers to all of your questions.
In astrology, what is the Nadi Dosha?
The human body has three Nadis, according to Vedic astrology. The first is called Aadi Nadi, and it represents the Vaata (air) element. It depicts the flow of energy from the bottom to the top. The Madhya Nadi, which symbolizes the Pitta (fire) element, is the second Nadi. It depicts energy flow in both directions. The Antya Nadi is the last of the Nadis. This Nadi represents the element Kapha (water) and the energy flow from top to bottom.
According to horoscope matching, Nadi Dosha is a fault in an individual’s horoscope. As a result, the Doshaa generates a slew of complications and problems in the couple’s marriage. Nadi Dosha happens when astrologers do the Kundli Milan and there are conflicts in both people’s Nadis.
If a guy has Aadi Nadi and the female has a different Nadi, the marriage life is regarded as prosperous. If the female also possesses the Aadi Nadi, however, Nadi will receive 0 points. As a result, the Nadi Dosha is formed.
Nadis and Nakshatras
In Vedic astrology, each Nakshatra has a Nadi associated with it. Each Nadi, according to the astrologer, has power over nine Nakshatras. As a result, according to the Nakshatras, one Nadi is allotted to birthing.
The infant has an Aadi Nadi if the Moon is placed in the Ashwini, Ardra, Uttaraphalguni, Hasta, Moola, Punarvasu, Jyeshta, Poorva Bhadrapada, or Shatabhisha.
The individual has the Madhya Nadi if the Moon is in the Bharani, Poorvashada, Anuradha, Uttara Bhadrapada, Pushya, Mrigashira, Chitra, Poorva Phalguni, or Dhanishta Nakshatra.
Finally, the Nadi is Antya Nadi when the Moon is in the Ashlesha, Kritika, Swati, Uttarashada, Vaisakha, Revathi, Magha, Rohini, or Shraavana Nakshatra.
In astrology, there are several types of Nadi Dosha. There are three varieties of Nadi, as previously stated: Aadi, Madhya, and Antya Nadi. These three are said to symbolize the Ayurvedic TriDoshaas, according to Ayurveda. The following are the three Nadi Dosha and their effects on people’s marital lives:
Read Also:- Capricorn’s Hidden Characteristics
Aadi Nadi Dosha
If the couple has to deal with this Doshaa, they will have to deal with divorce and disagreements. There’s even a chance that others will notice difficulties with youngsters.
Madhya Nadi Dosha
The pair would experience misfortunes and divorce if they had this Dosha. Furthermore, their child may inherit health concerns, making his or her infancy full of illnesses.
Antya Nadi Dosha
This Dosha may result in the harm to a companion. Marriage would be frigid, and there would be health concerns at a young age,
The impacts of Nadi Dosha
Nadi Dosha has the potential to endanger two people’s marriages. As a result, residents must have their horoscopes matched before marrying an astrologer. As important as mutual understanding is, it is also critical that the horoscopes or Kundli coincide.
In the Nadi Dosha, there are certain exceptions.
It is self-evident that everyone will have the same Nadi. As a result, there are a few exceptions to the Nadi Dosha in Kundli matching:
The Nadi Dosha is neutralized when both couples have the same Rashis but their Nakshatras are different.
Furthermore, if both couples have had the same Nakshatra but distinct Rashi, Nadi Dosha is negated.
Several Nakshatra pairings are exempt from the Nadi Dosha: If a man and woman have the following Nakshatra pairs, their Dosha is canceled.
Rohini and Purva Bhadrapada
Magha and Rohini
Punarvasu and Ashwini
Uttara Ashadha and Swati
When the bride and groom have the same Nakshatra but are in variable Charan, this is the next exemption to the Nadi Dosha rule. The Nadi Dosha is also nullified by keeping the Nakshatra in separate quarters.
The Nadi Dosha is also nullified if the husband and wife have different Rashi but the same governing planet.
In this blog, we have discussed the meaning of Nadi Dosha, It’s impact on the marriage of two individuals, and the types of Nadi Dosha. In the next part of the blog, we will be discussing the solutions and remedies to eliminating and minimizing the affects of Nadi Dosha before marriage. So, stay tuned!

Sinusitis Ayurvedic Treatment in Kerala
Tumblr media
Are you tired of dealing with the annoying symptoms of sinusitis? The pressure, the blocked nose, the headaches—they can really put a damper on your day. But what if there was a way to treat not just the symptoms but the root cause? That’s where Ayurvedic treatments come into play.
Understanding Sinusitis in Ayurveda
In Ayurveda, sinusitis isn’t just seen as a random occurrence; it's often the result of an imbalance in your body’s doshas, particularly Kapha dosha. Kapha is one of the three primary energies in the body and is closely associated with mucus production and fluid balance. When Kapha is out of balance, it can lead to excessive mucus, congestion, and eventually, sinusitis.
Ayurvedic treatments focus on restoring balance to the doshas, particularly by reducing the excess Kapha that contributes to sinus issues. This holistic approach addresses the root cause of sinusitis rather than just temporarily alleviating symptoms.
How Ayurveda Approaches Sinusitis
Ayurveda offers a comprehensive approach to managing sinusitis by focusing on the balance of Kapha dosha and overall health. Here are some effective Ayurvedic strategies for sinusitis:
Dietary Adjustments:
Warm, Moist Foods: Opt for warm soups, stews, and herbal teas. These help balance Kapha and soothe the sinuses. Spices like ginger, turmeric, and black pepper are especially beneficial due to their anti-inflammatory properties.
Avoid Mucus-Forming Foods: Limit intake of dairy, sugary treats, and fried foods, as these can increase mucus production. Instead, focus on fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to keep your sinuses clear.
Stay Hydrated: Drinking warm water throughout the day helps thin mucus and supports sinus health.
Daily Ayurvedic Practices:
Nasya Therapy: This practice involves applying medicated oils or herbal drops into the nasal passages. It helps clear excess mucus, reduce inflammation, and lubricate the sinuses. Nasya is a simple yet powerful way to maintain clear nasal passages.
Steam Inhalation: Regularly inhaling steam, possibly with added essential oils like eucalyptus, can help relieve congestion and reduce sinus inflammation. Try this a few times a week to maintain sinus clarity.
Exercise and Breathing Techniques:
Regular Exercise: Engaging in moderate activities like walking, yoga, or swimming can improve circulation and boost your immune system, both of which are beneficial for sinus health.
Pranayama (Breathing Exercises): Techniques such as alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana) can help balance your doshas and keep your nasal passages clear. Incorporating pranayama into your routine enhances overall respiratory health.
Lifestyle Adjustments for Better Sinus Health:
Adequate Sleep: Getting enough restful sleep is crucial. Poor sleep can weaken your immune system, making you more susceptible to sinus issues. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night.
Stress Management: Chronic stress can worsen sinus problems by impacting your immune system. Engage in stress-reducing activities like meditation, mindfulness, or gentle yoga to maintain a healthy immune response.
Maintain Humidity: Using a humidifier helps add moisture to the air, preventing dryness and irritation in your nasal passages. This simple change can make a big difference in managing sinusitis.
Avoid Allergens: Minimize exposure to common allergens such as dust, pollen, and pet dander. Keep your living space clean and consider using an air purifier to reduce airborne irritants.

Why choose Ayurvedic treatment for sinusitis in Kerala? Ayurveda goes beyond treating symptoms—it aims to balance your entire body. Here’s what you can expect from an Ayurvedic approach:

Naadi jothidam - https://mahashivanaadijothidam.com/
An overview of the traditional naadi astrology of South India
Naadi jothidam is a technique used by the people of South India for ages to learn about the happenings of one's life and the reasons behind them. South Indians believe that the sacred sages and Munis of ancient days had the power of foreseeing things, and they used their holy powers to write them on palm leaves. These writings have been stored to date treated with peacock oil on some occasions. Naadi is a Tamil word, meaning "in search of". As people are trying to find about themselves and their lives using these scriptures written in palm leaves, the process had got its name. However, nadi jothidam is somewhat different from that of common astrology with planets or palmistry. You could find several differences in the processes used to predict one's life using these various methods. Vaitheeswaran temple in South India is considered the prime center for this astrology technique. It is believed that the accurateness of this astrology technique would be more than other modes as one could not ensure the proficiency of the reader in those types. As the sages are known for their intelligence and powers, you can believe this technique.
How does it work?
All you should do is to find a professional and knowledgeable naadi astrology center in your locality and know about your lives. According to South Indians, a person with the knowledge of reading these ancient writings on the palm leaves known as ola in Tamil could only read and deliver the answers to the questions people have. Also, they believe these writings would be reliable, and things would happen for sure. So, if you wish to know about your future, you can try visiting a professional naadi jodhidar who could read the ola written for you several years before by the great sages. As the ola would contain wordings from ancient Tamil written in the poetic form that is not in use currently, everyone could not read these leaves. It is the reason for seeking a trained jodhidar to help by interpreting the writings.
What could you know about yourself using naadi astrology?
Knowing about one's future beforehand would always be exciting, and people would prefer knowing about almost anything they want. However, there are some factors that you could know using these olas for sure. Some of them are as follows,
Health – The primary factor about your life that you could know about using naadi astrology is your health and body's condition. You could know about your health as well as that of your family members using this technique. If any doshas are causing you health issues, you could get some solutions too.
Marriage, love, and relationship – After health, most people would have issues related to their marriage lives or relationship issues. If you are waiting to get married for a long time or your relationship is on the verge of a breakup, you could get some solutions or get to know about the right time for this holy thing to happen in your life using the wordings written in olas. A professionally trained naadi reader will let you know about all these causes restricting you from getting a married life or delaying the process. You can get clarity with his interpretation.
Career – Apart from health and marriage life, the next important factor to worry about would be your career. Everyone would love to know about the surprises awaiting them in their career. If you could know the way your career would get changed beforehand, you can prepare yourself. At least, you can get some mental relief as you would know that you will get rid of the dead-end job soon.
Wealth and business – Closely related to career, you could get to know about the time remaining for you to get rid of your poverty or issues in your business. You could get some predictions for the results and profitability of your new business through naadi astrology. If there are some restrictions for your growth, you could get solutions to overcome them.
Children – If you do not have children for a long time, you could get some remedies through this technique.

Balance Your Doshas through Pranayama / Breathing Exercises
It’s a commonly assumed and accepted fact that Ayurveda and Yoga are correlated. Well, that’s not really the case. Certain breathing practices of Yoga do contribute as a part of an Ayurvedic treatment though, but otherwise, both these entities are different.
Sadly, these perceptions of breathing or Pranayama have taken over its true meaning and importance. Breathing the right way has some innate powers of healing the person’s soul and giving them the strength to improve their health. It is a spiritual and robust method for those who have mastered this skill.
Most of us also tend to have a very stereotypical idea of Pranayama. Sit cross-legged, inverted palms on your knees, deep breaths, chanting, etc. However, there’s much more to Pranayama and its benefits than what we know. Let’s dive deeper through the angle of Pancha Maha Bhutas and Doshas. That’s where the connecting link between Ayurveda and Yoga can be found.
Pancha Maha Bhutas
The classical Ayurveda text from Ashtanga Hridayam talks about Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. It states that everything manifested is composed of the panch (five) elements, namely Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Space. They are present in different proportions. Similarly, our body comprises the qualities of the Pancha Maha Bhutas to perform vital bodily functions.
The power lies within the three doshas that interact together to form your constitution. We cannot call an individual dosha to be more important than the other. Each one of them has a unique set of features for the proper functioning of the body. The art lies in balancing these three doshas that we know as Good Health. As the explanation indicates, even a slight imbalance can lead to a disease. You will most likely find that the two doshas are more overwhelming than the third one, such as Kapha-Vata, Vata-Kapha, or Pitta-Vata.
Naturally, the breathing exercise you choose has to one that treats the imbalance of the doshas rather than a one-size-fits-all meditation routine.
Your healthcare management must go hand in hand with the dosha. And for that, you need to understand your Prakruti. You can find it by answering this simple questionnaire.
Are you doing the right breathing exercises?
As mentioned before, a one-size-fits-all breathing exercise won’t really be that effective to balance your doshas. You need to choose a routine that’s specifically prescribed to your Prakruti.
Some commonly prescribed Pranayama techniques in this regard include the following.
Nadi Shodhana for Vata Dosha
This is recommended for Vata Dosha as it helps balance the Ida and Pingala Nadis. It’s advisable to practice gentle, rhythmic breaths that help pacify the restless, anxious nature of people with Vata Dosha.
The technique
Sit in a comfortable position, ensuring sufficient warmth around you.
Close your right nostril with the right thumb and inhale slowly through your left nostril.
While exhaling, close the left nostril with your ring finger and breathe out smoothly.
Repeat and continue the breathing in a comfortable rhythm about 5 to 10 minutes.
Remember this type of breathing should calm you down, so keep the rhythm in mind.
It’s ok if one of your nostrils feels congested due to cold. The main thing is to pay attention to the rhythmic inhalation-exhalation, which can be done through keeping both your nostrils open as well.
Sheetali Pranayama for Pitta Dosha
Pitta Dosha is usually associated with qualities like fire, heat, light, sharpness, etc. You’d therefore need to practise the Sheetali technique, which as the name suggests, literally cools down the fire.
The technique
Get into an erect sitting position.
Close your eyes, place your palms on your knees in the Gyaan-mudra or three-fingered position.
Curl your tongue if you can and inhale through it. If your tongue does not curl, you can try inhaling through your teeth as well.
Draw your tongue in and try touching it to the roof of the mouth. Exhale slowly through the nose as you do so.
Repeat this in a rhythmic pattern for about 3 minutes. You should feel a sense of calm and coolness in your body.
Ujjayi Pranayama for Kapha Dosha
Kapha Dosha is characterized by attributes like cold, cool, sticky, heavy, and oily. The breathing technique has to have the exact opposite effect of warming up, energizing the body and removing the excess congestion. In such a scenario, Kapalbhati, Ujjayi or Bhastrika form of Pranayama works best.
One should, however, remember that these two techniques should be done on an empty stomach. Furthermore, one should avoid it during pregnancy or in the presence of any heart or respiratory issue.
The technique (we’ve covered Kapabhati technique here)
Get in a comfortable position – you may sit or lie down as per your comfort level. Just ensure your spine is erect in the position.
Close your eyes, loosen up your normally tense muscles.
Begin with a few rounds of deep inhalation-exhalation.
Make sure your exhalations are crisp and quick, like the way you’d blow a candlelight out.
Your inhalations can be silent and in a rhythm. You can continue doing this for 30 seconds.
Alternate this technique between natural breathing and 30 seconds of Kapabhati.
The best advice would be to get in touch with an expert Yoga practitioner, discuss your Prakruti and practice these techniques under proper guidance. They will definitely work wonders.
Do not get Paranoid!
Being aware of your dosha is a great thing. It helps you understand how to maintain your body well and how you manage your health. The importance of breathing techniques is not limited to peace of mind. It helps boost immunity, keeps the circulatory system in place, and calms the nervous system. Practicing the meditations the right way and according to your dosha will provide you with enhanced mind stability.

Managing Anxiety with Ayurveda: A Guide to Natural Healing in Kerala
Tumblr media
Are you feeling overwhelmed, restless, or anxious? You’re not alone. In today’s fast-paced world, anxiety is becoming more common, affecting many people’s daily lives. But what if there was a natural way to bring calm and balance back into your life? Ayurveda, an ancient healing system from India, offers a holistic approach to managing anxiety by addressing its root causes. Kerala, known as the heart of Ayurveda, provides some of the best treatments to help you find peace and well-being.
What is Anxiety in Ayurveda?
In Ayurveda, anxiety is often linked to an imbalance in the Vata dosha. The Vata dosha is responsible for movement, communication, and energy flow in the body. When Vata is out of balance, it can lead to symptoms like nervousness, fear, and mental instability. The goal of Ayurvedic treatments is to calm and balance Vata, helping to reduce anxiety and promote a sense of inner peace.
How Ayurveda Treats Anxiety
Ayurvedic anxiety treatment in Kerala focuses on natural methods like herbal remedies, diet changes, yoga, meditation, and lifestyle adjustments. Let’s explore how each of these can help you manage anxiety.
1. Herbal Remedies
Ashwagandha: This powerful herb helps your body handle stress better and calms the nervous system, making it a great natural remedy for anxiety.
Brahmi: Known for boosting brain function and mental clarity, Brahmi also helps reduce anxiety and stress.
Jatamansi: This herb is excellent for soothing the mind and improving sleep, both of which are important in managing anxiety.
Tip: You can find these herbs in various forms like powders, capsules, or teas. They’re easy to incorporate into your daily routine.
2. Dietary Changes
Vata-Pacifying Foods: Ayurveda recommends eating warm, nourishing foods to balance Vata. Think of cooked vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats. Try to avoid cold, raw foods, caffeine, and processed items, as these can increase anxiety.
Spices to Include: Spices like ginger, cumin, and turmeric not only add flavor to your meals but also help keep Vata in check and support good digestion, which is key to mental health.
Try This: Start your day with a warm, spiced breakfast like oatmeal with a pinch of cinnamon and ginger.
3. Yoga and Breathing Exercises
Gentle Yoga: Simple poses like Sukhasana (Easy Pose), Balasana (Child’s Pose), and Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-The-Wall Pose) are great for relaxing your body and mind. Regular practice can help you feel more grounded and less anxious.
Breathing Exercises (Pranayama): Techniques like Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing) and Bhramari (Bee Breath) can quickly calm your mind and balance your nervous system.
Practice This: Spend just 10 minutes a day doing these yoga poses and breathing exercises. You’ll notice a big difference in how you feel.
4. Meditation
Mindfulness Meditation: This involves focusing on the present moment and letting go of worries about the past or future. It’s a simple yet powerful way to reduce anxiety.
Mantra Meditation: Repeating calming phrases or mantras can help center your mind and bring about a sense of peace.
Give It a Try: Find a quiet spot, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths. Start with just 5 minutes of meditation each day.
5. Daily Routine (Dinacharya)
Create a Routine: Having a consistent daily routine is crucial in Ayurveda. Try to wake up and go to bed at the same time every day, eat regular meals, and make time for relaxation. This helps keep your doshas balanced and reduces anxiety.
Self-Care Practices: A daily Abhyanga (oil massage) using calming oils like sesame or lavender can work wonders for your mind and body, promoting relaxation and overall well-being.
Suggestion: Make your mornings special with a warm oil massage before you shower. It’s a great way to start the day feeling calm and centered.
6. Lifestyle Adjustments
Reduce Stress: Ayurveda encourages engaging in activities that lower stress, like spending time outdoors, enjoying hobbies, or connecting with loved ones. These positive changes can greatly improve your mental health.
Consider This: Set aside time each week to do something you love, whether it’s reading, gardening, or simply walking in nature.

Vata Pitta Kapha: The 3 doshas
Each person is really distinct as well as must be treated as such. Every private body constitutes of its very own elemental make-up. The five aspects, earth, fire, water, air, as well as space (ether), condense to compose the three doshas, or energy pressures of the body. The concept of these doshas stems from India's old recovery scientific research, Ayurveda. It is really much more exact to think about Ayurveda as the system of 'life knowledge.' Its function, in short, is to comprehend all life types (body, mind and also spirit) and also their mix as the expression of production. All kinds of creation can be better recognized with these the three energies, or doshas, which maintain life. Their expression in an individual outcomes from a special proportion of working in each person's body which is determined at conception.
Every human experience, be it psychological, physical or ecological, has an effect on the balance of the doshas. Each dosha has special top qualities, as well as while all 3 doshas exist in every person, it appears which dosha, or more, are your dominant ones by your physical characteristics and propensities. This prominence of one (often two) of the power forces describes why two individuals may have entirely different reactions from the exact same point. See much more regarding this in Ayurveda: the three doshas where you can also take a fast dosha test.
So, how is it feasible to stabilize energies from inequality? Food is one way which can aid bring the doshas right into equilibrium as you can see in Irina's Ayurveda: Yoga as well as Diet plan program but here we will certainly concentrate on just how yoga exercise can assist stabilize the three forces.
Vata Dosha
The dosha often went over very first is Vata. This power complexity is ruled by the aspects, air and also area. 'It is the concept of kinetic power in the body, is mainly interested in the nerves, and regulates all body language. At the cellular degree vata relocates nutrients into as well as wastes out of cells' (Svoboda 14).
If you check out just the elements related to each dosha, it tells you a great deal currently concerning the characteristics of the pressure. In this instance with vata, air is completely dry, light, amazing, irregular, as well as mobile. These match the qualities of somebody with vata prominence. Vatas have a tendency to have completely dry skin as well as hair, are really energetic (physically and also emotionally), are often chilly and choose warm weather condition, as well as have an irregular daily timetable. When unbalanced, some common vata physical conditions consist of: joint inflammation, high or low blood stress, breaking joints, sleeping disorders, irregularity, heart problem, diminished power, as well as migraines. Vata types are likewise prone to mental conditions, such as, depression, anxiety, bipolar condition, and also obsessive compulsive problem.
Yoga to balance Vata dosha
In regards to yoga exercise, a vata type will substantially benefit as well as stabilize from a grounding, calmness, as well as reflective method. Considering that vatas often tend to be unforeseeable with day-to-day tasks, it is ideal they make yoga a regimen. It ought to be practised at a particular time of day at particular days of the week. 'Presents that job on the colon (the bodily seat of vata), intestinal tracts, hips, back spinal column, and also sacroiliac balance vata by bringing power pull back right into the base of the torso' (Knox 4). Sun Salutations ought to be done gradually. It is also stabilizing to include twists, forward bends, and also calming inversions. Given that grounding is very important for vata kinds, it is good to deal with standing poses like Tadasana, Virabhadrasanas (Warrior Presents), as well as Vrksasana (Tree Posture). Due to vata's hyperactivity, it is most balancing to permit a longer Savasana, even longer than fifteen minutes.

Pranayama techniques that cool down the body or offer way too much power, like Kapalabhati or Sitali, ought to be prevented by an unbalanced vata as they worsen this dosha. Anything relaxing is most balancing, like Nadi Shodhana (Alternating Nostril), Bhramari (humming breath), or perhaps Ujjayi (Victorious Breath). These 3 pranayamas are recognized to help work out energy, soothe the mind, and lower tension for the anxious vata.
Pitta Dosha
The second dosha, ruled by the components fire as well as water, is Pitta. The energetic force of pitta is primarily related to food digestion, however also with the enzymatic and endocrine systems. Its function is the food digestion of nutrients being changed into power for mobile function. Due to the fact that the actual translation of pitta is, 'that which cooks,' it is more very closely pertaining to the fire component, however the fluid nature of the substances it transfers and also metabolizes composes the water aspect (Rhoda and also Yarema 32).
By considering fire, we can tell pitta attributes will certainly be warm, light, intense, and also liquid. Oily is likewise a major attribute of pitta, not since fire is oily, however since oils shed intensely in fire. The physical high qualities belong to oily skin, brilliant eyes and also a medium size construct with typical weight. Pittas are easily irritated in heat and favor cooler environments. They often tend to perspire quickly, even in the winter season. The body organs, eyes, skin, liver, mind, and also small intestine are ruled by pitta. Some typical discrepancies that can manifest in a pitta are: infection, swelling, rashes, heartburn, as well as high temperature. A mentally unbalanced pitta can have sensations of anger, fear, hatred and envy. They are vulnerable to mental illness like unmanageable temper, stress and anxiety, and also ingrained psychological problems.

Yoga for Pitta Dosha
Because pitta kinds are excessively warmed and also attracted mostly to literally demanding poses, when looking at yoga exercise to aid balance, pittas benefit most from a cooling, heart opening, and a non-competitive class (which, ideally, all courses need to be). It is very important to work the stomach area, so spins like Ardha Matsyendrasana (Fifty Percent Lord of the Fishes Posture) are rather balancing. All standing forward bends and also heart opening poses, like Dhanurasana (Bow Pose) and Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) assistance to decrease pitta. 'Experiment with moon salutation, while sunlight salutation heats up, this vinyasa has a cooling effect' (Knox 8).

When practising pranayama, a pitta ought to focus on air conditioning, relaxed breathing. Exhaling with the mouth sometimes is an excellent method to release extreme heat. Sitali, or cooling breath, is one of the most stabilizing breathing techniques for this type. It aids with hyperacidity as well as ulcers which pitta type of body are susceptible to. Ujjayi breath is home heating, and must be made use of reasonably if unbalanced. Fire breath, or Kapalabhati, ought to only be practised if totally tranquil and also cool.
Kapha Dosha
The third energy force is Kapha. This dosha is ruled by the components planet as well as water. 'It is the energy of structure as well as lubrication that supplies the body with physical form, framework, as well as the smooth functioning of all its parts' (Rhoda and also Yarema 36). The literal translation of Kapha is 'that which sticks' and also can be taken the glue that holds the body with each other. At the mobile level it is the pressure that controls the cell's structure.
Kapha's qualities match those of the lubrication procedures (such as bile) in the body. Kapha has heaviness, oiliness, cold, stability, as well as denseness. A few of the body organs related to kapha include: the joints, stomach, mouth, as well as lymph nodes. Kapha kinds tend to have broader frames, can acquire weight easily, have thick and/or oily hair, as well as are more emotionally stable than the other two doshas. When unbalanced, kapha types are most vulnerable to excessive weight, cardiovascular disease, diabetic issues, sinus blockage, and also water retention/bloating. Also though this type is the most psychologically stable, if not in equilibrium, kapha can develop mental sleepiness or depression since they have a tendency to store their emotions.
Yoga to balance Kapha dosha
When utilizing yoga exercise to balance an overstimulated kapha, courses that are challenging, warming up and also vigorous are the most useful. It is excellent to work with the stomach and also practise asanas which open up the chest area. Many backbends in this case, like Salabhasana (Grasshopper Posture) and Ustrasana (Camel Pose), are handy balancing asanas. Positions such as Handstand, Headstand, Shoulderstand and Dhanurasana are primary kapha reducers. Sunlight Salutations should additionally be frequently practised. Leaping during shifts is advised to construct stamina for an inactive kapha. Savasana can be maintained a little much shorter for this type and they still will certainly benefit greatly.
Tumblr media
Pranayama exercises that stimulate the body as well as clear the mind must be practised. Energetic breathing to open up the lungs is very advantageous. For this kind of breathing, Kapalabhati as well as Bhastrika are suggested. Right nostril breathing is likewise cleaning as well as invigorating for Kapha. Ujjayi breath can be made use of throughout the asana technique for its warming effects.
When two doshas are dominant
If a specific body makes up of 2 dominant dosha kinds, both practices for balancing should be thought about. An individual can inform literally which leading dosha appears out of equilibrium. If a person is a double vata-pitta, one day the vata might be unbalanced due to too much mental task and also anxiousness, while the following day, pitta can be worsened due to feelings of anger or digesting food as well swiftly. Another means of figuring out which dosha kind requires balancing is by looking at the seasons. Again, if you are a vata-pitta, you ought to pay more very close attention to balancing vata throughout the cooler fall as well as winter season, whereas, pitta throughout the summer season will certainly have a propensity to be a lot more raised because of the heat.
Honor your individuality
People might assume their bodies ought to be able to do the very same things as someone else's body, especially in today's yoga classes. Actually, this is not possible because each individual is composed of their own energised constitution. This drops under the significance of Krishnamacharya's mentor, as he stated, 'It is not that the person needs to fit him or herself to yoga, but instead the yoga method must be customized to fit everyone.' One body might choose a slow, calming yoga exercise method, while one more is drawn in the direction of extreme challenging presents that produce warm. As a student, it is crucial to be mindful of your body kind, or propensities, and also work in the direction of balance. If you are a pitta and also practise tough Vinyasa Flow courses everyday of the week, it may be beneficial for you to practice some Yin Yoga.
In a yoga course, each body should be discriminated since they are various. It is essential to honor the body in yoga exercise method as well as to stabilize it to allow its full abilities. The doshas describe just how each person is really unique as well as why there are different reactions to the same experiences in life, be they physical, mental or emotional. Having a better understanding of your physical kind can assist to develop even more balance in your life as well as permit you to honor as well as fulfil your own special, imaginative expression of it.
